Relay is over once again.

I usually try to do this Sunday evening, but I was to mind mushed still from Relay to manage it. It's kinda a surreal year. The Relay track this year, FILLED with many amazing camp sights, felt odd. Why? Nearly everyone was getting the best performance they have ever gotten from it. I crashed a mere FIVE times! FIVE! normally I crash that many times with in the first lap, which also normally takes about 2 hours to make. This year no crashes that first lap and it took me less then an hour to make it. And overall I had no rubber banding, and only had two sim crossing parties, and one of those was due to the sim being full, not because it went down.

And it wasn't just me getting a great performance out of the track. Loads of people had an amazing personal record setting day. Whatever the Relay committee did to get it to behave so well, they need to keep doing! The only down side to this is my usual challenge of buy a luminary when you crash did not earn as much as it usually does!

Because of the grand way the track behaved, I managed a personal record of 15 laps! AND I could have done at least 18 if I had felt like it. But I learned not to do two things this year. Anything the night before and anything the day after Relay. I was SOOO tired by the last lap, and needed SOME sleep before heading out of the house for a bit that night that I crashed. And due to being out of the house Friday night I did not get a photo of every camp sight pre Relay. On the track now getting post shots though. Hopefully most of the camsp are still up.

This year we had 1129 people on the track and we have earned $234,246 USD. And that total will go up a bit more by the time they totally wrap everything up in August.

All in all it was a grand Relay season!

A time to Remember

I'm sitting here trying to figure out what to write on this post right now. And all I can think of is a friend from Mischief Managed, that became close fast, who lost their Dad in May of this year to cancer. It happened suddenly as well, diagnosed and then passed in a week. It was so hard on them. My heart aches for them and their loss so much.

And then I turn to thoughts of two wonderful ladies I know through Renaissance faires. Both of them battling Breast Cancer, Both doing amazing with their fights. Survivor hearts! I would expect nothing less from them.

And then I turn to thoughts of yet another friend who is still fighting her two year battle with pancreatic cancer. She is so strong and amazing.

And so, I chose to write down about them.

And honor them all.

Lets get ready to RELAY!

Steelhead sat out this year as our own team and a lot of us, as well as other Steamlanders, merged with Aether Chrononauts for the season. So I am waiting for the start of Relay in front of their lovely castle build, that is flying with all the flags of Secondlifes Steamlands.

This year I am relaying for a number of people, but I have nothing to represent them on. Just my usual items. But several Ren Faire friends are fighting Breast Cancer and one Mischief Managed friend lost his Dad this past May to Cancer. Hoping to get him on the track for a bit when he gets home from work.

One hour till Relay starts! BOOYAH!!

With hope in your heart

I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to wrap up my posts for this Fantasy Faire. It's easy to forget in all the fun, fantasy and shopping why we are doing this.

But Monday night, during the faire, I was told some news that made it all hit home.

A friend of mine from the Mischief Managed sim told me that they had learned the previous Friday that their father had been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. And i had to sit there, and just think, and realize, that is why we do this. So no one ever again has to be told things like that. So that one day we will find a cure. And until then people like my friend have a place to turn to for help if they need it.

It's for him and his family that we raised L$ 7,378,209 ($ 29,513) in funds. It's for people like my darling friends at OKRF that are going through breast cancer right now. It's even for my best friend's mothers dog that has cancer.

And its for my friend, Chase, that I dedicate all the posts I made this year for Fantasy Faire to. We haven't been friends long, but, in what ever way I can manage to be their for you, know I will be.

And for now, I say good by to the Faire sims, and turn my gaze to Relay Weekend in July. Where I will Relay for him, for his Father, for my family, for anyone I know who has been affected by cancer in one way or another.

Till then....

Blackmoor Creators - Arcadia, Poseidon, Senzafine and Enchantment

Click here for a list of all the stores on Blackmoor with SLURL's to their main stores I will not be posting SLURL's individually, as you can get them all at this handy link. If you need one for an item I have on that is NOT at Fantasy fair, and that will mostly be hair and poses, Ask for it! I'll be happy to tell you, but I am trying to highlight the Fantasy Faire items, or items by FF vendors only. SLURL to the sim

For the first of the creators on this the last sim I am showing you I have a fantasy outfit by Arcadia called Phuro, whole lotta skin/fur shows with this outfit so be confident in your body! I am also using a pose by Posideon called Wizard Pack 1.

Side note, the stone that says Always made me cry.....RIP Alan Rickman.

Next I have an outfit by Enchantment called Catrina, It comes with a hud to change the "skin tone" under the lace top. I just used the white one since...ya know..fur. Which would also work if your skin tone doesn't match one of the presets.

And lastly I have an outfit by Senzafine called Isilme. A gorgous gown just perfect for a lady.

And, this is now, almost the end of my Fantasy Faire posts. I'll do a wrap up tomorrow after we have an idea of the totals for the faire. I also have some thoughts I need to share.

Fantasy Faire 2016 Sim - Blackmoor

Blackmoor (Lokii Violet)
Fog snakes down the gaslit streets. Footsteps echo on the cobblestone but whether friend or foe approaches it is impossible to guess. Shadows loom in every corner as the bowels of the city wake up and the workings of another moonless night begin.

And so, here we have the last of the Sims. I think next year I'll make sure to finish sim coverage the Friday before it ends instead of the DAY it ends. I blame my late start due to technical issues for this year.

Blackmoor is a lovely sim. Very forestry, the town of Blackmoor nestled into a thick woods. Streets are foggy and you get this general mysterious vibe from it all. Like you could expect to see a certain deerstalker wearing detective or an old one at any point. Be sure to go into the middle of the sim where a wall of candles sits on a pier above a pond. It's quite lovely. My favorite thing though was the three standing stones under an arbor in the main square.

You can see all the photos I took at this link

Tinkers Hollow creators - Yasum, c*C*c, Analog Dog, Jenara, Epic Toy Factory and more.

Click here for a list of all the stores on Tinkers Hollow with SLURL's to their main stores I will not be posting SLURL's individually, as you can get them all at this handy link. If you need one for an item I have on that is NOT at Fantasy fair, and that will mostly be hair and poses, Ask for it! I'll be happy to tell you, but I am trying to highlight the Fantasy Faire items, or items by FF vendors only. SLURL to the sim

First up is this stunning hooded gown by Yasum called Snow Queen. It comes with a hud to change colors or remove the gloves. Also in this store the Relay vendors have been un full brighted and made tiny so look hard!

I've got two items here for you! One is the cute lil dress by c*C*c called Leona and the other is a super long pony hair by Analog Dog named Omega. It's made of a mix of mesh and Flexi prims and is resizable.

And the last outfit I have to show you is to be picked up in two parts, as the top and pants are sold separately. Its by Jenara and is called Jemina. It would be a great outfit of a genie or harem.

And lastly of all, a small grouping of rez items. The pink tree is by Epic Toy factory and is called Weeping Candy Tree. The large green tree is by Rivendale and is called the Faerie Tree, it has, I believe poses for Petites in it, but my blogger copy wouldn't work properly for me. The unicorn is by Bad Katz and is simply called Unicorn Laying. And the pixie on a swing is by Petite Plunder and is called the same. And you can see a close up of her at this link.

Fantasy Faire 2016 Sim - Tinkers Hollow

Tinkers Hollow | SLURL | SHOPS

Tinkers Hollow (Mayah Parx)
If you had the power to create anything you thought, what would you think? And if every thought you thunk took form, where would you store all the stuff? Welcome to Tinkers Hollow. The eclectic trappings of an unusual mind filled with everything from toys and cards to gears and cogs. Who knows what might appear?

Tinkers Hollow, is by one of my favorite SL builders, I've always loved Mayah's eclectic builds for Fantasy Faire. They are always so full of whimsy and joy. And this build is no different. There is so much to see about the sim, every where you turn you see some new little thing she just tucked here and there. And this year there is a unicorn dance circle! So precious! Love it!

You can see all my photos of this fabulous wonderland of a sim here
