Dragon Magick Wares at Fantasy Faire

Time for another of my amazing stores to promote! Dragon Magick Wares By Dragonia Decuir

Dragonia is a builder of wonderful whimsical houses, furniture and landscaping items.

Her Relay offering of a Petite Secret Hideaway tree has been blogged by, a number of people, so I thought I’d focus on another of her relay items. The Pixar's UP inspired Storybook House . For a donation of 300 you get a fantastical two story home. That is the right size for a smaller plot, but also still has plenty of room inside.

You can see the UP influence with the balloons, and I quite like the touch of it resting on an open book. It boasts two floors, two large rooms and two smaller rooms. Both of the larger rooms come with a carpet and a fireplace.

Outside you have a lovely ramshackle picket fence, and my favorite feature, a birdhouse with three birds, that chirp and twitter. Best of all the birdhouse can be removed to save prims, OR if like me you have a house, but like the birdies, you can set it out on its own!

If you come visit her store on Jungle Bungle you'll see she has a wide range of buildings. Including quite a number of items for the Petites out there. She gifted me with one of her other large builds and a petite house, both of which can be seen on my gallery of items by her at this link. The Mossy covered Petite Elven cottage is quite sizable for Petites, plenty of room to stretch your lil legs in it!

She has a store blog at http://dragonmagickwares.wordpress.com/ and you can visit her main store at SLURL to see a wider range of her items, many of which are rezed for you to explore.

Jungle Bungle - A Fantasy Faire Sim.

Ok, so I seriously, want to EAT this sim. Mayah Parx AKA the Toymaker, made a fantastic chocolate fantasy for this sim.

I asked her what inspired such a nommalcious build and she said Jack and the Beanstalk! Which is why the centerpiece of the sim is a beanstalk, giant and a huge lake of chocolate! Her story is that Jack did not cut the beanstalk down to get away from the giant, but because the stalks sap is the most amazing chocolate ever! So down it came, and now it seeps chocolate, which jack sells and has become rich. The falling of the beanstalk caused some giant furniture to fall down, so the elves that live near the lake turned them into houses!

It’s a fun fantastic sparkly sim that really appeals to my fae nature. It really MUST be seen in world to appreciate it. There is so much movement and sparkles! And giant candy, and truffula trees and people trees and chocolate and..oh it’s just a FUN FUN build!!

In my exploring of the sim I found lots of little areas to just, sit back and relax and watch the people go by. Really people watching at Fantasy faire is amazing. To see the creativity of the folk that come to it. Your mind can and will be blown! It's just outstanding the variety of avatars you see! From the HUGE HUGE HUGE!! To the super teeny Tiny!! And they are all there to help support Relay for Life and fund a cure for Cancer!

Toymaker has given us such an amazing place to play in. She's both a sim builder and sponsor for Jungle Bungle. And looking at what she's done for the sim, and the items in her main store it's just amazing. She is the owner and creative mind behind the Epic Toy factory, a sim I really MUST get my tail to and explore soon. *slurl*

As Sim sponsor, her store would be right at the landing pointt, but she's rather NOT put out anything to sell yet, as the whole sim is her vision. But she will be getting her Relay item vendors out soon and, and when that happens I will most likely end up buying whatever it is she's got in them. The more I see of her work the more I am loving it.

One of the creators I am assigned to has her store on Jungle as well. I'll be covering her in my next post but if you go and look at all of the photos I took of the sim you can get a bit of a sneak peak!

Now, I need to go find some chocolate in this house to eat....oh look..M&Ms....

And ending this post with a very fitting song..for both the sim and The Toymaker, as she lives in a world of Pure Imagination!

Shadow's Claw - A Fantasy Faire Sim.

I settled on an order for my Fantasy faire posts. Designer, sim, Sim - Repeat till done! Since there are 8 sims, I have four designers and also want to make a post showing off the pretties I bought, that made the most sense to me!

I'll start with a Sim I started my explorations with! Shadow's Claw. I started there by random. I spun my camera around in the portal room and clicked and off I went!

The sim is designed by Laufey Markstein and on the designers page he refer to it as a mountainous terrain thick with the scent of pine and covered with rocky crags that ride all manner of secrets, possibly even dragons.

In a talk with him about his inspiration for the sim, he said he had envisioned it as a ruined village that had been attacked and destroyed, possibly by dragons! His original concept had lots of smoking ruins and fires still going, but that would have caused some lag issues so he went with a Viking village that had been destroyed some time ago. I don't know if it was planned or not, but the Isle of Wyrms has their fantasy faire store on the sim. I found it rather fitting.

The Sim itself is gorgeously terraformed, the land melding with the builds so they rather are a part of each other. And has hidden secrets along the borders to find. Some accessible by rope bridges, others are not. Laufey says he likes the sim to be viewed with a night setting, but I can't remember if I switched to a day setting or it hadn't been set yet when I visited, or it doesn't have a windlight setting. I did go back and take some night photos after learning it is how it was meant to be seen.

Laufey is also the owner and creator behind the store T R I D E N T , and you can get to his main store by clicking here

Vaengi at Fantasy Faire

And to start with the first of my Creator posts I go with the one I asked for and was given Vaengi!

If you’re wondering why I asked for her specifically. Vaengi USED to be Seven's Selections. Yes Seven of the Fish fame. But his sister, Jen Shikami, makes wings. Wings that I have worn since day one in Secondlife. I love Jen's wings so much. I'm constantly answering the question "Your wings are fabulous where did you get them?"

So when I saw that she was going to be in Fantasy Faire I jumped to blog her! And she's not only a creator, but a sponsor of the faire!

I asked her about the name change. She said when she made the decision to split off from her Brothers arcade and move the store, that a name change would be a good idea too. Not only did some people have problems spelling Seven's Selections properly but Vaengi is a more fantasy sounding name. It's Icelandic for Wings!

I received a very generous blogger package from her, with not only her Relay wings but all of her newer styles she's created. Like all her wings they come in ten colors per style and are resizable from super tiny to Dragon huge! As well as several other options. And the wings come with a build in flight script, so no more need for flight feathers if you use those! She has two offerings for the faire that you can pick up in her store in the RFL vendors for a donation of L250. That's TEN wings for that little! I've always thought of her wings as such a bargain for what all you get.

Her brand new wings are called Angel Gabriel Wings, and are curved flexi wings. She's quite excited about them, as there are not many curved flexi wings on the grid, if any others at all. Plus they are quite stunning. Perfect for an Angle or anthro bird. You even get three sets that are tintable!

Her other offering is a redo of an current set of wings, her Ragged Fairy Wings. She's developed this stunning Iridescent texture for her wings and the first wings to get them is the Ragged Fairy. The RFL offerings has four shades in the iridescent texture and the rest are purple shades of the other styles the wings come in, Including tintable ones! The Gabriel wings also come with this texture but to me it looks far better on the fairy style wings of the Ragged.

And she's told me that eventually my Dotty wings will get it. And then I will at long last change wings. Sorta..*grins* Same shape and color *I think* just shimmery!

Both wing can also be purchased in various shade packs in none Relay vendors. For the same price of L250.

When you stop by there is also a basket with a freebie in it that she changes daily!

For more information check out her blog at http://www.vaengi.com/

Before I get into my Fantasy faire posts, let’s take a break for Luna's color challenge!

This week’s color was a grey, and I have a hard time with greys. I SOOO lucked out when I found I had a dark grey dress in my inventory I haven't blogged yet! I wanted to go find a colorful sim to explore, but I also wanted something that wouldn’t take me to long. Colorful was out for that apparently! The Dark side is a sim in shades of grey just like the dress! But It was so interesting I didn't care!

So for color I used a rainbow holding pose I had picked up at Pose fair. Hey that worked for me!

An interesting feature of this sim is the land itself is shaped, into a hand and a ball. Not many sims use the LAND like this. Only a few that I have been too. It also used a windlight setting that made things even greyer. Did make taking photos a little hard due to if I faced the wrong way there was no lighting!

I loved the birdcage on the round island and the two winged moons.

Fantasy Faire to Benefit Really for life is a GO!!

I got into the sims yesterday for the blogger previews and have taken SOOO many photos! The sims will just blow you away in how stunning they are. The builders really have outdone themselves. Each one has its own theme and is breathtaking it its own way.

I've been pondering how I wanted to blog the event, the sims, and the stores I was blessed with. Thought about doing one huge post. But you know what? Each sim and each creator is just so amazing they all deserve their own posts! So, that's what you’re getting! Spammy? OH YES. Do I care? Nope! You will totally understand if you pop over and see the sims yourself. My photos really do NOT due them justice.

Don't worry I'll pace myself over a few days and not post them one after each other today. So not THAT spammy.

To start with a little information on the sims and the faire in general. Which I am totally swiping from the website http://fantasyfairesl.wordpress.com/

This year’s Fantasy Faire will include eight lavishly landscaped shopping sims created by some of the top designers in Second Life. While each sim with have a unique feel to it, they will be connected as one Fairelands, a Fantasy continent. Whether your style be steampunk or fae, mer or gothic you will find yourself at home on several, if not all, the sims and enjoy exploring them all.

There is also a event sim and that is the sim I am going to highlight in this post. It's called Fairelands Junction and was designed by Saiyge Lotus
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The%20Fairelands%20Junction/117/124/23

She did an amazing job with it. It is designed to have a portal to each of the shopping sims, a concert arena and the auction area. My favorite part is the building with the portals to the other sims.

Each sim has an archway with a lil taste of what the sim looks like in it. You click it and the map comes up and you can teleport away! If you click to view the rest of my photos you can see each archway. But really you need to see them in world. They have MOVEMENT, so many times in these sims did I wish I could take video. The movement and sounds the builders put in are numerous.

The auction area is outside of the portal building. Walls of items you can bid on and win! Go take a look, bid!!! Every bit goes to help Cancer research.

There is also a stage, which currently is hosting the band Mankind Tracer for a concert. Other events will be taking place over the next week. They have a jail and Bail set up, not fully sure how that works but you can ask someone and find out. I've heard plans for a themed hunts to match the storyline of each sim, and lots of other fun stuff! Why are you not there already?!?!

Fantasy Faire started today at Noon SLT and goes till April 29th. I'll be missing the last two days due to RL Ren faire but I plan to be hanging about the sims each day I CAN be there. Come find me!!

This was a tricky color for me, at first. Then I saw someone blog themselves in a gown on the Titanic sim and it clicked what I wanted to do. Granted I had to buy it instead of digging it out of my inventory but I am so in love with the hat I don't CARE.

Finding the outfit was as simple as putting in Edwardian and turquoise in to the market search.

Getting the PHOTOS was tricky. The Titanic sim was and still is a bit, swamped this past week. One time I popped in and it had over 40 people and nothing was rezzing. So I decided to wait till AFTER I got back from Oklahoma to do the shoot.

Still had some lag issues. so I got what photos I could and got out. I want to see if the bottom levels are as shop heavy as the top. Because honestly there being so many shops on the upper deck annoyed me.

I am there to see the fabulous build and recreation of the ship! Not a crap ton of shops!

I wonder how many of you are like me when it comes to this sim. Just darting in for a quick photo but not really EXPLORING it.

Well I decided it was time to dive in and explore this stunning sim. It's really just breathtaking. I found it hard to NOT take a good photo. Unless you line up your camera in the middle of a tree or something nearly all angles are stunning photos waiting to be taken.

You have settings for all four seasons, though the winter segment is rather tiny compared to the other three. With a HUGE fantasy tree as the focal point in the middle of the sim..

It has a landing point, near a well and some giant bunnies. You can either TP down or fall down the well to the store, and then out the store via two tunnels to the rest of the sim. The store sells some of the beautiful trees and flowers you see about the sim. And the butterflies are free if you join the group.

I chose a random tunnel to go out and ended up starting in the spring section. Spring is followed by fall, then winter then summer. Though you’re going in a circle (square?) around the sim. I believe the other entrance is near fall/winter.

I of course enjoyed the spring the best. But that's just because I love the colors of spring and the flowers. But each season has its own beauty. Especially on Alirium.!

Scattered about randomly are some poses, I found a lily pad that let me float in the water.

Also tucked about are hidden critters. I was taken by surprised by the painted elephant in Spring! Birds, deer, lizards, just all sorts of critters to track down.

I took soo many photos! Like I said, it’s hard to take a bad photo unless you work at it. Or your camera goes into a tree or something..

I do have one small complaint and that is, to me, the sim was very laggy. Even when I was the only one in it. I'm not sure if it was server side lag or client side lag though. I did have my draw up to 200 and a poofy dress. But the sim restricts scripts so it wasn't lag due to scripts I had on. I think it may just have been due to the massive amount of alpha stuff.

But I am in bad need of a system upgrade *June!* so your millage may vary. And don't let the threat of lag keep you from exploring this sim better! I am sure there are tons of stuff I missed tucked away in nooks and crannies.

All of my photos are at this link..

This week’s color was so very NOT easy. Nothing I had seemed right. So I had to go shopping. STILL found nothing that matched as close as I'd prefer. But I had been planning on getting this lovely outfit by salt before the color was announced. So, I used it. Close enough I say. The embroidery on the bodice is the part that is the best match. Though if you made the roses paler they'd be perfect.

My sim of choice for this color is Hazardous. Which I ended up on purely by accident as I wasn't looking for a sim for the shoot yet when I found it. I was just doing a landmark folder cleaning. But I landed on the sim and just had to STOP because it took my breath away. While I was there Ambrose "stalked" me to the sim and had pretty much the same reaction.

And I am very pleased that Frooti released her poses for this weeks color before hand so I could use it in this post!

Landing point is in a gazebo with a piano that plays gentle music. near it is some balloons you can float about the sim with. And some portals to skyboxes. That I totally did not notice till I thought I was done with the sim.

The main feature of the sim are some rock piles covered in vines. Various ways to get atop them abound. Also a field of water lilies that softly glow in the night. It makes for a lovely effect.

There are three sky area's to visit. The portals are half sunken in the water near the gazebo. I noticed them when I was up on one of the rock piles taking a shot of the gazebo. I clicked and was whisked away to a lovely tree scene. Which I WANT so badly. I did track down who made it and put it on my marketplace list. For the curious it’s called The raven tree by Studio skye. They also have a lovely Fairy mushroom scene I want as well. The tree is mesh so if you visit hazard make sure you have a mesh viewer. I don't know if anything ELSE in the sim is mesh but that skybox scene is.

It's got poses in it and I had fun playing with those

The other two boxes are a ghostly ship in a storm and a rainy street scene. Both fantastic builds but I like the tree better.

Now I need to finish cleaning out my landmarks :P

You can see all my photos of this fantastic sim at this link

I know I'll miss the very tail end of it due to opening weekend at OKRF. But I'll have pre opening access a day before and the week of it till the 27 to get in and explore. Oh there will be posts made before I leave for Muskogee!
