1. What is the rez date for your current SL Avatar that you use most often?

I only have the one Softpaw Sommer Rez day March 28, 2008

2. Where was the first place you made friends as a newb and got to know people in Second Life?

Brythony, I had some wonderful neighbors there. Follow that with some fantastic people I met in the Isle of Wyrms

3. Where do you spend most of your SL time now?

Steelhead! When not out exploring. I love my Steelhead family.

4. Who is your closest friend in Second Life? (only pick one)

Oh this ones easy. Ambrose Steampunk! Can't wait to see him next month. Once a year real world visits are not enough. We have so much fun together.

5. What is the most favorite thing in your inventory? (only pick one)

ugh, so much to pick from, I guess, not counting my base avatar, it would be my big pink tree, called Hope Spring Eternal by Kriss Lehmann of Botanical. It's one item I will ALWAYS keep out on my land. It was also one of the first items I picked up. Apart from it's pinkness, the meaning behind the name is close to my heart.

6. The last thing you purchased in Second Life?

uuhhh *checks marketplace transactions* a bunch of hair demos, none of which worked. ...stupid rigged mesh hairs not fitting the cat head..

7. What color clothing does your avatar wear most often?

PINK!! PINK AND MORE PINK! followed by purple

8. Do you prefer to walk, run or fly?

It all depends on how far I have to go. walk to stuff close, fly if its far.

9. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in SL?

Steelhead town meetings can get insane at times...all it takes is one person passing around a freebie full perm weapon that shoots like..pies..or fish..and we're ALL shooting them.

10. Who would you like to play YOU, in the movie of your SLife?

I have no clue here, I do know it would involve a lot of CGI and/or some extreme makeup. So pretty much just looking at voices, and still there, not a CLUE. I always imagined my SL voice to be sweet, light, and bell like. Which, uhh, I don't sound like for real.

The first meme I’m going to start with is the seven SL facts meme. Basically I’m going to share seven facts about my SL avatar or my SLife that may or may not be obvious to all my readers. The only thing I ask is, don’t judge me (or at least just do it quietly in your head)! :P

My SL Fact #1:

I have a large collection of other avatars that I NEVER wear, or wear only for an hour or so and then file them away. This collection includes several dragons, random critters, a few humanoids and some weird oddball things like a field of bouncy blobs. I have no idea why I pick up these things.

I will take photos of some of the odder ones if asked!

My SL Fact #2:

My Sl partner Adar is my husband in real life. And while we did not meet on Secondlife we did meet on line! Turlock, who you also see in photos, is our house mate. Also met on line. They both joined Sl the same time I did, because I asked them too.

My SL Fact #3:

My good friend Maus Merryjest AKA Kain Scalia fixed up my main avatar for me for the first time. I was having issues due to a lack of a graphics card. As I had known him forever I trusted him with my account long enough for him to pick me out an avatar, as he knew where to go for everything. He picked out my original Luskwood avatar, first hair, first outfit and most importantly, My wings. Of these items, I still wear the wings he found me. Never found any that I liked better!


My SL Fact #4:

I got into Second Life due to an article on it in Faerie Magazine. My first plot of land was in the sims the article mentioned, Brythony, which was a part of Winterfell/Caledon, but is no longer around.

My SL Fact #5:

I've managed to meet one person I have met in Secondlife in person. That would be Ambrose, and hes turned into one of my best friends.

My SL Fact #6:

I chose my SL last name due to it went well with Softpaw, which is the name I have used online since the 1990's. At that time I did not realize I'd have to type it in every time I logged on. Which is fine as Sommer is not that hard to remember. Adar was not so lucky as he chose one he felt sounded neat, Rozensztrauch, a name NONE of us can remember how to spell and always have to C&P it after a clean viewer reinstall.

Turlock picked Ort as he learned from Adar's mistake..

My SL Fact #7:

I love to explore Second Life more then anything else to do Inworld. If I sim has poses for me to play with even better! But being able to see all the amazing builds Sl artists can come up with, or put toghter out of items other made, is just one of the best things ever, It make sme feel like I am part of the art they created.

That said, If a sim wont allow me in as long as I stay in my Feline form, I will just not go to it rather then change my looks.

Snow white, The original Princess! Started it all!

Fun Trivia, Adriana Caselotti, Snow's Voice, also sings the lines "Where for art thou Romeo" In the song "If I only had a Heart" in "the Wizard of Oz".

Snow's Iconic outfit was tricky for me. But I got an idea of what I wanted and put it together. The red part was the hardest due to the inability to layer mesh over mesh. *saves mesh rant for another post* I made the bow yellow instead of red as a Red bow would get lost in my hair. And this was the best Apple pose I could find. ..SO surprised to not find many poses with apples! Like, any, at all.


I plan to start doing Strawberries 7 items memes, and had thought to attach them to my Disney posts, but then changed my mind. So now I have to go find an outfit and a pose for those. And I decided to take all the Disney photos single on my home plot instead of exploring like I do for my Crayon Challenge. Why? Change of pace.

YAY back to sim exploring with out it being in an outfit for a blogger challenge! This is what I had orginaly started this blog for, to get out ad show off secondlife itself, not just to show off clothing. I now try to do a mix of both.

Saw this lovely garden build on Avatars in motion. Which is a fantastic blog to follow if you want to learn of some truly stunning place in Secondlife.

In the Beguiled, you arrive in a lovely gazebo surrounded by a lush park, with a bubbling brook, flowers galore and even some hot springs!

There are pose balls scattered about, as well as many hidden gems. Like this statue in the brook. You'll also find prim people that give it a nice lived in look.

I love how its a mix of realistic plants and a bit of fantasy. Just truly lovely.

Licorice

Pink Flamingo the crayon was added in 1997, kinda, and can be found in the 120 and up packs. It's a florescent color, which so far haven't been translating well to the RGB or Hex codes. I really need to get myself the biggest box of crayons I can find atm. Which is a 150 crayon set!, and compare the colors to the screen. Also would need to find my specialty sets in the garage.

And reading on This page and this page I learned that this color was part of a naming contest that Crayola did in 1997. Called the “Crayola Search for True Blue Heroes”, people where to take one of 8 new colors, draw a picture or write something dedicating that color to someone they consider a hero. Pink Flamingo comes from the Canadian version of this, which had a few color variations from the US, Canada got Pink flamingo for its "color number 2" while the US got a color I have already covered and did not know about the contest before finding this page, Mountain Meadow! Pink Flamingo's Hero was Hero: Bradley Boston and he was Nominated by: Lyndsey Boston, whom I am assuming is related to him somehow. My Google Fu has failed to give me more information on either of them.

I said it was Kinda added in 97 as for a year it's "name" was for the hero, then in 98 all the true blue hero crayons got their standard names.


For the outfit, I fudge some and went with the spirit instead of a super exact match. Because, how often would I get to have a reason to wear this ridiculous Bjork inspired outfit? It did not come with any kind of undergarments so I found a bra on the marketplace that I felt went with it. Simple updo hair style for the hair. The pose, I was going over some new ones and when I found one that had me on one leg it was THIS IS IT!! It was just way to perfect!

As for the Sim, and I am SO pleased to get back to exploring, it is a personal sim that the owners have opened up to allow folks to visit, just stay outta their home and don't fly. Which is easy to do as there private home has ban lines and its set to no fly! I guess due to people NOT obeying their two simple requests.

It's a lovely water sim with a lot of whimsy and quirkiness to it. I enjoyed it a lot. Pose balls and items are scattered about as well as many cute random items, including a single black kite in the air

The bottles have animated sitting poses inside them, as well as a boat. And the color swirls around the trees change shades as you watch.

There is even a hidden underwater area, which I will leave you to find yourself! I literally fell into it as I didn't know it was there and went WOOSH down underwater as I was gliding along.

So, well known fact about me

Beauty and the Beast is my FAVORITE movie of all time. I mean, to the point that I based my wedding dress off of the gold ball gown. Our living room has a shelf of BatB stuff and that's not even all I OWN. Just what fits up on it. Which sucks as two of my showpiece items are too big for the shelf I have in this house. Both are by Lennox, one is of Belle and Beast in winter with the birds, the other is of the Rose jar. SO PRETTY, SO not going to risk them falling off by being off balance!

So I was pleased, and amused that this weeks was Gaston. Pleased that it was a BatB Character, amused that they went with the bad guy, and Gaston is the first villain to show up in the challenge.

Finding the outfit was super easy, I figured Gaston, if he had boobs, would show them off as much as he could, so the jacket thing was a fantastic find due to the Powergirl boob window thing. The rest is just filler. Then the prop and pose! That blunderbuss? It shoots RUBBER DUCKS, I am so very much amused. And the chair was too perfect, I couldn't find a good pose for the gun so I went looking for his chair in the tavern and found that!

Sadly I couldn't find a good tavern that would let me plop the thing down, so its in the cave on my land.

I have, around 4 or 5 different recordings of Beauty and the Beast, Including the Original Australian cast recording. Which, has HUGH JACKMAN playing Gaston Yes, for those that did not already know, He was in musicals long before he was in movies. I sadly can not find much video of him playing the role, but there is a few snippets of him in this video. and if all you want to do is listen, here his him doing Gaston, the song. He's honestly the best thing ON that cast album, Belle is whiny, Mrs Potts is an Australian TRYING to do a British accent, same with Lumire and French and everyone else is just not as good as Hugh. Not bad at all for his first time in a musical!

Spring cleaning!

Time to clean out my photo folders and post links to all the stuff I didn't get a chance to last year! New season, new TAIL in photos, lets get to cleaning!

A while back, there was a fabulous LED sim that was all done up like a Black and white sketch. I went to it, but I not only explored it, I was in theme! I had found a fun stick figure avatar on the marketplace and wore it with a black and white version of my wings

I saw this next place over on Primdolls some time back, I think in October. It was a haunted hunt with a theme around a Japanese Legend. I don't remember much else about it, It was a lovely build and the hunt was fun.

Fifth rez day!

Yesterday was my Fifth Rez day! FIVE YEARS in Secondlife!

I had planned originally to spend my Rez day in world and exploring a new lovely place on my computer. But I had ONE last issue to deal with with the new system. Which had be a wee bit depressed and worried that it was bigger then it was. But It is now taken care of and I am on a computer that not only will play second life, but I now have shadows and all the other nifty features I didn't before.

I am so thrilled to be able to get back to exploring again!

To celebrate my rez day I picked up a new mesh tail that is animated and SO much sleeker then the squirrel like tail that came with my avatar. It's the {Lemon Tea} Somali Neko Tail and i love it. It swishes back and forth better then any tail I have ever seen in world. IT comes with a hud with several fur texuters and you can tint it via rgb as well! Super nice!
