I had seen posts about this cute lil build in other blogs so had to give it a go. The gown? I had SO many choices for this shade of purple I picked one I liked. I love the intricate prim work on the sash and belt. Angle is so good at the tiny stuff.

The build is magic frogs. And while a lot smaller then I thought it was is still cute. AND there is a hunt! You’re supposed to find the magic hat. But there are a few misleads. It took me a while to find the hat.

The hat is VERY tricky to find. There's not much clue as to what your to click. I will give a hint and say it’s very slow moving.
But if you click the misleads you still get things. By the time I found the hat I also had an apple, a horn and a snail on my back. Plus the very silly hat

I'm still arguing with the new photo interface, but having seen them on my gallery pages. I at LEAST am going to make sure I have it resize the suckers down from the twice as big as ctrl ` makes them. If you don't know what argument with the interface I'm talking about its two posts down. I may just have to deal with it, go back to using the interface and keep checking my image folder they go into to make sure the photo TOOK.

And in some news that has me nervous. I have applied to be a Fantasy Faire Blogger. I've NEVER been an official blogger for anything before. So its pins and needles times.

Now to go find a Seashell Peach outfit for next week’s outing. It's such a pale color! I don't know if I have it already!

I forgot about this..

Kouse started a new jewelry store called Krystal Jewelry and had a photo contest to celebrate the opening. The grand prize was a complete jewelry set inspired by the winner and all of the jewelery ever made for the store.

I came in third with this photo




And won a gift certificate and one piece of jewelry will be inspired by/named for me. I asked for glasses in her style, and if she's not ok with that a necklace or tiara themed to the flower Columbine. It's my FAVORITE flower and there is so little columbine stuff in world.

Can't wait to see what she creates! Not just for me but for all the winners. It will be fascinating to see what other come up with for her to make.

Fourth Rez day!

Part one at least

Oh and it was Wednesday for the record, not today.

part two comes whenever Ambrose gets someplace with an internet connection and can give me this year’s cake. I cannot WAIT to see what he did with my idea of Butterflies and jewels.

For part one I bought myself a present of the most princessy over the top stunning gown I could find, Poem By Fellini Couture. And an amazing jewelry set by a new to me jewelry maker Zuri Rayna called Only You Rose Elite. And I am not in world ATM so I can't grab slurls for either of them.

But holy crap I felt so PRETTY in them. I have my eye on a few other sets by Zuri. And honestly a few gowns by Joy, but her gowns are just so over the top amazing I don't buy them often. Just for special occasions.

Decked out in my finery and a favorite hairstyle I set out to find a castle for my fairy princess self. I wanted something sparkly and shiny and new looking. destination guide was no help there :P At least with the castle section


So I settled for a photo session on my land and this was the results. A cropped version is my new profile photo if you search for me inworld.

But later I found the listing for the Rose Theater, and it fit the bill. That theater btw..is HUGE and I need to go back and explore it when I am in a less primmy outfit.

Sadly a LOT of shots I took got lost. Why? The new photo taking window in Firestorm. Which is what the official SL viewer uses as well. I HATE it. It doesn't close when a photo is taken and sometimes gives me false messages that the photo got saved. I switched to using ctrl ` which gives me photos twice as large as I usually take. But it still doesn't always save properly. I am so frustrated with this! I want the old system firestorm used back!

I could go back to using Phoenix, Which has the better photo system. but I switched to firestorm as I didn't want to be stuck going WTF am I doing with this whenever Linden pulls the plug on V-1 type viewers. Plus Firestorm's multi alpha layers has allowed me to wear some outfits that call for alpha with OUT me having to make new ones just for that outfit due to my legs.

If anyone has any suggestions I'd be very open to them!


Enough of whining. I also picked up a new more casual outfit, and I totally don't remember who made it. I plan to wear it in the shoot with my cake but did take a photo of it before that in a skybox. I’ll look up the credits then :P So enjoy a last pretty!

Week Thirteen: Tea Green

So while going through my light greens for this week. I found that one of the OTHER vampire dresses from Van Helsing I own fit the bill. I have all three of the brides outfits and wore one already for last year’s Goldenrod. Suki of Suki's Silken Fashions did a wonderful job recreating them. Though I just noticed on the marketplace she's updated them. For example the version I have doesn't have the neck thing while the revised one does. Either that or I tossed it ages ago for some reason or another.

And now I rather want a pink to come up that fits for the last one just so I can complete the set!

Since I was all decked out in a Vampire gown. I decided to go searching for a simple vampire sim to explore. TO THE DESTINATION GUIDE!! I ended up choosing Progeny: Vampire Castle and Grounds

I can't say much ...well anything really, about any role play that goes on there. The entire time I was there only a handful of people showed up and never near me.

The build however is stunning and complex, with many levels to explore. Starting at the skybox entry area, which gives rules and such for the sim.

You take a boat tp down to the ground and wow, the setting is amazing. The sim makes excellent use of windlight settings to give you a dark foggy creepy sim to play in. I switched to midday a few times just to show the contrast with and without the windlight.

There are several separate areas to explore, the castle, a rundown village, a grave yard and a stone circle. I went to them all but didn't thoroughly explore the castle. I THINK it may even have an underground catacomb area.

I think the sim uses a specific to it bite/attack system. Which is NOT blood..whatever it is that is the super annoying one. But like I said, I saw no one I could talk to about it. But if you’re interested go take a look and learn more yourself! Vampire Rp is not my thing so I didn't do more digging. I just enjoyed the amazing build.

I had fun with the pose for this week. Turlock WANTED me to pop him in the background someplace, as it's a green color. but eh..if I'm going to have a friend make an appearance like that, they will be part of the main photo. And lemme tell you I could NOT find a vampire biting pose that did not look sexual. And sexual and Turlock..is just a no. So hopefully the next green will work out for him to make an appearance.

I went with a pose of me holding a goblet then played with the hud for my avatar to look vampirey. The below shot has a with and without the angry kitty look taken that you can see when you view all my photos from the area.

Next color is going to be fun. I have a ton of that shade. Want to find a fun place to explore to contrast the gloom of this sim as well! Now to figure out what to wear and where to go tomorrow. It's my 4th Rez day!

Week Twelve: St. Patrick’s Blue

So with this color, Luna challenged us to research it, which I did. And what I learned was interesting. While everyone, at least in the states, associated Ireland with GREEN., Blue is the original color for Ireland. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Patrick%27s_blue has more info if you’re interested.

Learning that I wanted an outfit that represented Ireland a bit, and A touch of Ireland held true. The right shade of blue is in that tartan someplace. *grins* I also hoped to find a nice Real life in Secondlife place and found the Perfect spot

Blarney Castle! Home of the famous Blarney Stone.

If you don't know what the Blarney Stone is, it’s a rock, that according to legend if you kiss it you get the gift of Gab..AKA smooth talking and eloquence. To Wikipedia for more info if your interested! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blarney_stone

This SL recreation looks rather faithfull and even includes an animation to kiss the stone. Which to do that you have to have someone hold your legs while you dangle high in the air and kiss it upside down at the top of the castle.

The sim the stone is at is a rather lovely Irish town. I just didn't feel like exploring all of it. but if you go and want to have at it!

Welcome Spring!

Springtime is here at last. My favorite season!

Happy Two days late St Patrick's day!

I had this all set to post, all Adar had to do was post it. But while I was gone we had a brown out that lasted JUST long enough to shut off my computer, and thus lost the HTML and instructions for him to post it.

So you get it a couple days late while I type up the next 52 weeks color post.

It's Time...To start Relay for Life

As I HOPE everyone that reads this is aware, This past weekend was the start of fund raising season Relay for Life of Secondlife. Which I am involved in. This year I am getting involved from, well honestly BEFORE the official start even. To many folk close to me of late have been directly affected by Cancer or indirectly affected.

My father In law had Prostate cancer
My Best friends dad now has prostate cancer
The DAY before The official start I learned one of my uncles has it.
I lost an Aunt to Pancreatic cancer
This past January my corner of the Ren Faire Community was rocked by the loss of a Gentle Rouge to Brain cancer.

And really I could go on..and on..But those are the big ones.

So I decided it was way beyond time to get more involved. Well as more involved as my schedule will LET me. Since so much happens on weekends during the run of OKRF.

BUT it’s not running now and The starting ceremonies where on an off weekend for Academes so I went! Watched, listened, Cried. And started my 5 a week donation pledge drive I'm doing.

Saturday night was the first Relay event for Steelhead and I went to that as well. All decked out in my new outfit I picked up at the first HUGE Relay event Fashion for Life.



It’s one of the few none Purple items I picked up, It’s got everything including the hair! Which I tinted red as it comes brown. That took FOREVER. It's by Emo-tions and is available only at Dreamseaker It's Time *slurl*

Except for a few grab and runs at stores I knew had stuff I wanted I waited a couple days to go explore the Fashion for Life Sims. Such amazing builds!! And so many wonderful wonderful items to buy!!

My only gripe is I couldn't find ANYTHING for Adar in a RFL vendor. Saw some stuff NOT in the vendors but He wanted something from a vendor. He wanted something less formal then a suit but not urban grunge, PLUS his skin color is tricky to get stuff for. Out of luck in that department. We need up getting him a suit from SF Designs that had a matching gown for me to pick up. You can get them at Dreamseaker Epoque *slurl*

Week Eleven: Aquamarine

Aquamarine was such a tricky color. Do I look in my greens? Do I look in my Blues? I ended up looking in both and found this lovely dress by A Touch of Ireland. The "Charlie's Angels" hair style by Truth just seemed made for it as well.

For this week’s Sim I wanted COLOR, bright happy COLOR. SO many art sims have such subdued color I wanted a change. And my choice of Pico Pico certainly delivered bright vibrate COLOR. Plus it’s a game!! Weee!! But its only around till the 15th so you can only go play a few more days.

When visited the creator Mikati was at the landing point answering questions and helping people. She's adorable cute and petite. I can't say if she'll be there all the time or not. I can say she will instruct that you pick up the gift and wear it. You need to!! It's the hat and you need it to play the game. It, and a lil follower you get when you enter, help you collect your points.

What's the game? Well it’s both incredibly simple but also a LOT trickier then you'd think. The game is to walk through the lil hearts and collect points. Trick is, the build is so bright and glowy its hard to see hidden falls and twists and turns. I got turned around SO many times! The Tron like grid texture does not help you figure things out in the depths and higher levels. And oh yes there are several levels, but try to get the most you can on the ground level build before tping to the higher ones.

If I recall there are around 5 levels. The top two less colorful than the others. I took the top photo at the second to last level so you could SEE the dress. My score after a couple falls was 19 I believe. There is a high score board see if you can get on it!

This was a Destination guide find. It looked like loads of fun! Custom sounds! Interactiveness! FREE STUFF WEEE!!!


And while it is a GREAT build, it's been around a bit longer then I thought *like...YEARS longer* and apparently, stuff is no longer working. No sounds and the factory is broken. *sad fae kitty face*

But despite that I did still have fun exploring this sim. I just wish it still worked. I did IM the creator about it but nothing. So do give the place a look from a historical Secondlife stance. But don't expect to still be able to "bake" stuff.

The factory where if it was working you could "bake" things. Sit on the stool and pick and choose your items and get it at the end. But, alas, it's either broken or I was unable to figure out how to MAKE it work.

Avocado didn't take me long to find in my inventory, thanks to my new folder system. I paired Cloe by severed garden with a simple skirt from Sn@atch as I am not fond of wandering about in my underwear. But I do love the belt with its pouches of lil critters, Severed is fantastic for cute lil touches like that.

It was destination guide again for the picking of the sim. Spirit is quite a fascinating multi level build. Though I couldn’t find a way to get up to some of the higher levels without flying. But given the nature of the build that may be what was wanted. OH and you can blend in with the build via a free avatar at the landing point. It's kinda a metallic fairy tree being.

I found it quite intriguing that some of the objects claudia222 Jewell created changed what they looked like as you panned around them. In an optical illusion way, Is it a bird head or a human skull? Keep changing position and its both! And I have NO clue how she even managed a lot of the visual tricks.

This is not a sim to just give a simple once over, I am sure I missed stuff.

In none sim stuff, as I hinted at in my last post I have a new addition to my look. What? Glasses! I wear them offline, have since the 3rd grade. But never found a pair in Secondlife I just loved enough to pick up. Then I saw some glasses that Deoridhe had on in a post over in her blog Prim Dolls. They were so dainty and delicately wonderful I had to see what else the designer made.

The creator is Aslan Kish and the store is called Air *slurl* And he creates what he calls Jewelry glasses. Looking at them you can see why! They are all micro prim detailed works of art. I would Dearly DEARLY love to own a pair of these glasses in Real life.

I chose a different style then Deoridhe wore, mine are called Angela. They are texture change in the metal and the gemstones in the glasses. so I can always match my outfits!

Meshy Meshy Mess

This is a two part post, But both parts deal with MESH! One parts good the other..not so much. So we'll start with the good.

The good, is me taking on a one time Blogger challenge, Which I thought came from Luna. But I can't find the post. Someone in the 52 weeks group did link me to a Flickr group though.

SL Blogger Challenge: Outside the Norm

The challenge? Wear something not like you normally do. I went all out and went tiny and not furry. Though admittedly the clothing is something I wear big and furry.

I chose to flutter about in the new Yabusaka Petite Fairy Mesh Avatar. Which is totally adorable and TINY. I loved being so small in a big world. And it was different seeing myself without the fur and tail. This avatar is hot right now. So many of my favorite designers are making stuff for it! I have on an Evie's outfit and a wasabi hair and a wings by the same lady that made my normal ones. Jen's just recently changed the name and I don’t remember the new one.

Anyway..here I am all tiny and cute! Posing with a cute chair that Evie made for the petites.

Since you can pick everything up at one location, well except the wings. I'm giving a single Slur to the petite kingdom

I suppose I could have gone with colors at least that I don't normally wear, but HEY I figured, no fur, that’s a big enough change. Will I be keeping any part of this? Rather hard to. But I have left the chair out on my land for any petites that stop by.

I do want to find a place with lots of furniture and things and have fun playing around there in this. And I would LOVE it if any Fur creators made petite furs this size. That would be adorably fantastic.


Now for the not a nice. Because I have a Sad.

I am quite open to mesh as you can see. But I am REALLY hoping that hair designers do not all go to making just mesh hair. Because I would be screwed. I cannot wear mesh hair. Not wont ,because it would change my personal shape. Can't. Not unless I go human. So really the mesh hair trend affects all Furs not just me.

Why?

Because you cannot resize, modify or even MOVE where mesh hair is attached. Which sucks so much. I wish Linden had made it so you could and I don't fully understand why they made it so you can't. The not moving its attached point more than anything.

Even adjusting by resize script would work to allow me to wear mesh hair, especially if it’s that nifty one that lets you adjust prim by prim and location as well as size.

This is what happens if I wear well ANY hair right out of the box. But this time it is demos of Truths lovely new mesh hairs that I would LOVE to be able to wear but can't.





If Hair makers all go all mesh, I will be SO sad. Wasabi Pills is already pretty much all mesh as it is, and now Truth has started to make Mesh hair. I am just hoping creators will at least make both mesh and none mesh. Though I know I am a minority as a fur and the hair makers will go with what sells. And Mesh hairs are fabulous and selling. Which I why I wish I could wear them!


And in none related to mesh ramblings. I am ready for the next 52 weeks color post! I got it done ahead of time in case of dying again after this weekend’s trip to Muskogee for Ren Faire stuff. *boogies*. I'm excited about it as I will be introducing a new possibly permanent addition to my look. I say possibly as I'm still trying to decide if I want to keep it or not. But its nifty and I can't wait to show it off.
